Family Life

A loving family of four, with days that were super hectic and chaotic. Just having had our 2nd daughter, Riley in May 2018, our days were filled with busy schedules, round the clock feedings, stepping on legos, and Paw Patrol. On the weekends, we would find fun activities to foster Isabellas love of art, music and cooking with trips to the park, painting, and cooking time with daddy. Then one day, it all changed.

The Phone Call From Hell

It was Friday, December 7, 2018 when we each received a phone call from Isabellas school. Her school explained that our beautiful daughter had gone down for a nap during nap time, and she wouldn’t wake up. We spent everyday in the hospital wishing, she would. Wishing that this was just a terrible nightmare we would wake up from, but that wish never came true. 4 days later, we left the hospital holding only one of our two daughters. On December 15, 2018, we buried Isabella. She had just turned 3 November 18th 2018.

What Now?

We still do not understand why this happened to our family. However, we are finding strength in creating this foundation in Isabella’s memory. SUDC has also offered our family so much comfort as we try to navigate and understand our “new normal”. Our foundation has 2 purposes.

  1. To spread Isabella’s love of life to other children in the community, by either funding programs that allow children to participate in the arts, music, dance, etc. or donating materials to these kinds of programs.

  2. To promote awareness, advocate for research, and support those affected by SUDC (Sudden Unexpected or Unexplained Death in Childhood)
